I grew up in a mainline denominational churches. It seemed the more I learn about God in the churches, the less I know God. I tried to choose Jesus as they said I should not, but fell into sin more and more. I attended Bible College, and was drinking parties, running drugs on the black market, and the Lord knows what else went on. I started tache drinking and college. When I joined the Navy, my drinking escalated.
During my time in Viet Nam, I was a chronic alcoholic. I was kicked out of the Navy a general discharge. For the entire year, I hitchhiked across the United States looking for a reason to live I would be willing to die. It turned out to be the one who died for me.
On the way to the drinking party in southern California, a young man asked "my," Do you know Jesus? "I would not talk to him; I was furious to be asked that question. Later, nursing a hangover, I started thinking about the question. I realized I know about Jesus, but I did not know him.
