Bhutan is inert asphyxiant. High concentrations can act as a mild narcotic (above 18%). Inhalation 10,000 fol ppm (1%) for 10 minutes causes drowsiness. The smell of butane can be felt only in concentrations greater than GVI .. liquid butane in contact with the skin can produce frostbite.

Personal protective equipment: When working with liquid butane necessary to protect eyes and face shield, arms protective gloves (and protection from freezing), body protective apron (or suit) and legs best protective footwear (via shoe). The safest protection is respiratory breathing apparatus with individual supply of clean air.
ER: When poisoning fol by inhaling butane is provided first aid, depending on the condition of the injured, if breathing has stopped, give artificial respiration. In all serious poisoning and skin injury liquid butane (where you should immediately rinse the place of touch), should seek medical attention.
Methods of analysis: For the analytical determination of butane suitable portable instruments: the infrared photometer, gas chromatograph, coulometric analyzer and you. For accurate analysis recommended by the classical methods of gas chromatography (NIOSH method S93: NIOSH Manual of Analytical Methods, 2nd ed. Vol. 2). It is recommended in suspected high concentration of butane to determine the oxygen content (in an atmosphere of worktop space).
