Admit it: since it was announced, no one took for the fifth film based on the Fountain. I remember seeing the trailer a few months ago, Gloria Laura Branigan as soundtrack. Blasphemy felt every second that my eyes rested on that thing. Then come the Morelia Film Festival and the unexpected happened: criticism commented positively about Gloria ... What the hell? Had they been the same paleros who said wonders about the filthy Cantinflas biopic? Curiosity was born. Then aired discontent expressed by Gloria Trevi to the movie ... Oh! So it must be something big. So with my somewhat high expectations, today saw the mentioned film. But really it was good? Let's see.
Located suburban propane mid-80s, a young excited with fame and driven by his great desire to sing, he auditioned at the Academy of an evil man named Sergio Andrade, to form part of a new girl band (known suburban propane as The Heartbreak Tango, but not out in the film). The guy happens to be a child molester, something that does not prevent Gloria develop a tremendous suburban propane love for the unfortunate man. Over the years, its success grows, suburban propane submerged in the sea of naivety which is subjected; something completely contradictory to broadcast his lyrics. The final all know: both are imprisoned for perversion of minors, although Gloria walks free after distance himself from the accusations towards Andrade.
I would love to tell you how to enjoy this film from beginning to end ... But the first time is an insufferable reminder that no national biopics are made. The presentation of the character is short, obvious and without conveying the true spirit of the singer would see already advanced its history. The production values are terrible, diminishing suburban propane the credibility to work. The atmosphere is noticed very poor and in general all the art department. These personifications of Paty Chapoy, Pedrito Sola and Raul Delasco, are horrendous, to put it kindly ... Okay, have no fear of God. Finally, suburban propane the sound is something that jumps too in places. No talk about the sound design (which also abuse, for example when you are recording studio), but the quality of the mix. They seem much, but the end result is favorable. The actor Sofia Espinosa effort is admirable. It's a good actress she will have to track him down. Their poses, singing and attitude, truly reflect Fountain. suburban propane What matters most: she manages to generate empathy the viewer. No matter what has happened in reality, the work reflects a girl alienated with fame, wrapped in this irreverent and fun character, imposing ideas among youth that used to be taboo sexuality, poverty, addictions ... This in the beginning of globalization in Mexico! Wow that does change the perspective of the singer. Against, has to Andrade, played by Marco PĂ©rez. His performance is monotonous, because the same character as well as the structure required ... Would not it have been better to have some background on him? Otherwise, I can only see him as the bad mustache twisted it is only evil pleasure of being bad.
Oddly enough, the most strong are the musical numbers. They will be banal pop hits, but they have their charm and lovely film. Gloria worth thanks suburban propane to its character creation, music and performances. Photography also has its moments, but become unstable. Let go hair and fear, go see it!
